City lacks amenitiesfor the HIL
Hockey India (HI) is planning to organise Hockey India League 2013, a tournament based on the model of the Indian Premier League. If everything goes according to plan, the tournament will start from January 10-February 10.
The organisers have announced that six teams will feature in the tournament. HI has shortlisted 13 venues, including Calcutta, for the tournament. However, HI representative Kukoowalia said the city has bleak chances of featuring in the final six venues because of poor infrastructure at the Sports Authority of India (SAI) complex.
