Body found
Nagaon, July 3: Karbi Anglong police recovered the body of a former UPDS cadre from Diphu town this morning. The cadre, Vicky Tisso, was picked up from his Diphu residence last night.
Dharna
Dibrugarh: Labourers of Chabua tea estate damaged furniture and staged a dharna at the garden hospital on Tuesday, protesting against the death of a newborn on Monday night, allegedly because of negligence.

Sivasagar: Robbers took away cash and valuables from the house of Sashidhar Dutta, a resident of Metekajala village, in the district on Tuesday.

Girl dies
Nalbari: Dimpi Barman, 14, a resident of Chamata Jamartol village, died from Japanese encephalitis at the GMCH on Tuesday.
Office closed
Nalbari: The Sarukhetry office of the Assam State Electricity Board (ASEB) was locked on Tuesday by local residents of Sarthebari in Barpeta district because of long power cuts.
