Paddler in US open

Guwahati, July 1: Assam paddler Anal Kashyap is participating in the US Open Table Tennis Championship at Grand Rapids in Michigan, US, from June 30 to July 4 for the third consecutive time.

He has been training in California for the last few years.

Karatekas qualify

Altogether 56 karatekas have qualified from the North Assam zone to participate in the junior, cadet and under-21 karate-do championship of the United Karate-do Association, Assam to be held here on July 28 and 29.

Chess deferred: The All-Assam Chess Association has postponed indefinitely the 35th all Assam inter-district chess championship, which was scheduled to be held here from July 7 to 17 in view of the current flood situation across the state.

The Kamrup (metro) District Chess Association is going to organise a selection trial at the Srimanta Shankar Academy here from July 3 to 6 to name the district squad for the inter-district meet.
