Jet fuel price cut
New Delhi, June 30: In the second major relief to cash-strapped airlines this month, jet fuel prices were cut by about 2 per cent. The price of aviation turbine fuel (ATF), or jet fuel, in Delhi was reduced Rs 1,241 per kilolitre (kl), or 2 per cent, to Rs 61,169 per kl with effect from midnight tonight. The reduction comes on the back of a massive 5 per cent (Rs 3,260 per kl) cut in rates effected from June 16.
Drug deal
London, June 30: Global biopharmaceutical firm Bristol-Myers Squibb will acquire drug maker Amylin for $5.3 billion, a move that will strengthen its position in the diabetic medicines market. In a statement issued last night, New York-based Bristol-Myers Squibb said it would acquire Amylin for $31 per share in cash, aggregating to around $5.3 billion.
