The German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) provides scholarships to international students for a range of postgraduate courses at German universities. DAAD New Delhi is inviting applications for scholarships for postgraduate studies and research in the following areas:
● Masters scholarship for public policy and good governance (PPGG) at one of the selected German universities. The course must focus on one of the following areas: public policy, good governance, international relations, public management, administration, civil society.
First class graduates who want to contribute actively to the social and economic development of their country are eligible to apply.
● Postgraduate courses with special relevance to developing countries.
First class graduates involved in the planning and execution of directives and projects dealing with development policies can apply.
● Conflict studies and management programme (CSMP) at the Willy Brandt School of Public Policy for a masters degree in areas such as regional security (especially developing frameworks for it), terrorism, governance, fragile states, peace and institution building and global policy making.
First class graduates in international relations, peace and conflict studies / war studies, international law, area studies or other relevant programmes that concentrate on conflict studies or conflict regions are eligible to apply.
● PhD in conflict studies and management programme for doctoral studies in areas like regional security (especially developing frameworks for it), terrorism, governance, fragile states, peace and institution building, global policy making as well as cultural and religious aspects in conflict studies.
First class postgraduates in relevant disciplines can apply.
In addition, they will also receive a lumpsum towards airfare from India to Germany and back. Selected candidates will not have to pay tuition fees at the universities of their choice.
The duration of study for all the postgraduate programmes is between 12 and 24 months while for the PhD programme is three years. The deadline for applications is July 31. The session starts in October.
