Calcutta: Fans in India, who soaked in all the excitement of IPL-V and were expecting more with the Champions League T20 scheduled to be held in the country in October, will be disappointed as on Tuesday it was officially confirmed that the event will be shifted to South Africa.
“South Africa will host CLT20 this year. All other details to follow soon,” Sundar Raman, a member of the CLT20’s technical committee, wrote on his twitter page thus confirming that India will not host the tournament this year.
That the CLT20 will be held in South Africa was reported by The Telegraph on Tuesday’s edition of the paper. According to a well-placed source, “the people who matter met in Kuala Lumpur on Monday”.
