Although the rainy season has come as a relief after the torrid summer, it has brought with it the pain of waterlogging. This seasonal scourge is more pronounced in localities close to the 10 natural drainage channels in the capital. Weeds, silt, solid waste and encroachments are choking these channels, creating an eyesore and preventing the smooth passage of water. Though renovation work on some of these channels has been undertaken, the situation has not improved much. The Telegraph runs a reality check and finds out how five of these channels will fare this monsoon.
