Five precious films in your DVD collection:
Mr. India (Sridevi, 1987), Chaalbaaz (Sridevi, 1989), Bhalobasha Bhalobasha (Shrabanti and Hiraan), Amanush (Shrabanti and Soham), I Love You (Dev and Payel), Saathi (Jeet and Priyanka).
I am a huge Sridevi fan. I have grown up watching her films. I don’t emulate her on screen but she is definitely a huge inspiration. Do you know I can dance to Na jaane kahan se aayi hai (Chaalbaaz) exactly like her!
Films you watch often:
Jab We Met, oh what natural acting by Kareena (Kapoor)! I would love to play that character if there’s a remake, ever! Bommarillu (Telugu), Paromitar Ekdin (Aparna Sen), Saat Paake Bandha (Jeet-Koel Mallick), Challenge (Dev-Subhashree).
Films on your must-watch list:
Paan Singh Tomar (Irrfan Khan) and Rockstar (starring Ranbir Kapoor), Rajib (husband) has bought the DVDs for Jhinuk (son) and we plan to sit together and watch the films.
Films you watch on DVD to learn the craft:
I don’t watch films to learn the craft, but I do watch films so that as an actress I can be more versatile. I loved the film Tejasvini (1994), Vijayashanti was byapok in the film! Seeta Aur Geeta (1972), Chaalbaaz, No One Killed Jessica (Vidya Balan-Rani Mukherji), Prem Amar (Payel-Soham), Dujone (Shrabanti-Dev), I Love You (Dev-Payel). I like action films where women take part in the action sequences. I want to do a film like Seeta Aur Geeta! I have told Rajib to direct a film with me where I can display my action skills!
A recent film that has left you shaken and stirred:
Kahaani. I have become a huge huge Vidya Balan fan after watching the film.
Films you watch for fun:
No Entry, I have a belly ache whenever I watch the film. Hero No. 1, Hadh Kar Di Aapne, Koi… Mil Gaya and Krrish. Whenever there’s a re-run on TV, I never miss these films.
How many films do you watch every week?
One or two.
One film you can watch again and again and again:
More than one film actually: Mr. India, Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge, Goopy Gyne Bagha Byne and No Entry.
