JVM to lock power board offices

Jharkhand Vikas Morcha (JVM) activists from the party’s East Singhbhum district unit will lock up the offices of Jharkhand State Electricity Board (JSEB) in Jamshedpur on July 7 to protest against the power board’s failure to improve supply in its command areas.

Speaking at a press conference on Sunday, JVM central secretary Abhay Singh said several senior party leaders including Jamshedpur MP Ajoy Kumar will take part in the agitation.

“Kumar will lead the agitation at Bistupur. He along with party activists will march upto the general manager’s office at Bistupur before locking it, “Singh said at his Kashidih office.

Singh will himself lead the agitation at Golmuri while district president Feroz Khan will lead the stir at JSEB’s Mango office.

JSEB offices at Kadma, Patamda, Govindpur, Jugsalai and Jadugora will be locked as well.

“We will agitate in a democratic manner. The agitation is necessary as people in rural and urban areas are fed up with intermittent power cuts and prolonged load-shedding. Assurances of JSEB officials about improving the scenario have failed to work,” said Singh.
