New Delhi: Chuni Goswami on Saturday backed the newly-appointed Indian national coach Wim Koevermans’ plan to introduce a playing style that could be suitable for the national side.
“The new coach, I have been told, wants the team to play a more passing game. That’s a wonderful approach… The long ball tactics that our team played in the last five years would do no good to Indian football in the future,” Goswami told The Telegraph.
Dutch coach Koevermans, who would take over as the national coach from July 1, recently said he was impressed by some of the Indian players but was unhappy to see their long ball tactics in the Asian Cup last year.
