Cosmetic cures

I am an 18-year-old man with dry, rough and almost curly hair. It lacks softness and feels like plastic. Could you please suggest something that would help improve the condition of my hair?

Pritesh

People with dry, curly hair have different hair care needs than people with straight, fine hair. But all hair needs to be treated gently. Curly and dry hair types are usually more fragile than straight hair. So, you’ll need to be especially careful about using styling products or chemical treatments. Shampoos made for dry hair and conditioners can be of great help. It is really good to get into the habit of giving your hair deep conditioning treatments. The extra moisture makes the hair softer and more manageable. Dry hair needs conditioning every time you wash it and once a week deep conditioning mask will give it the needed boost of nourishment and moisture.

Here’s how you can give yourself a salon style deep conditioning treatment at home. Apply your deep conditioner to damp hair and either wrap your hair up with a plastic wrap or put on a shower cap. Then wrap a heated towel around your head and leave it on for around 10-15 minutes. The heat will help the conditioner to penetrate deeper into the hair and make it soft.
