Balco, HZL shares

New Delhi, June 20: The mines ministry has written to the empowered group of ministers seeking an early sitting of the panel to decide on diluting the Centre’s stake in HZL and Balco to Sterlite Industries. “We have written a letter to the eGoM chairman and sought an early sitting. However, it is up to them when they will call the meeting. Our endeavour is to make it (stake sale) as fast as possible,” mines secretary Vishwapati Trivedi said.

Akzo Nobel

New Delhi, June 20: Paints and coatings firm Akzo Nobel India today deferred its proposed Rs 120 crore share buyback offer to July 2 from the earlier scheduled start date of June 22.

Mumbai, June 20: The BSE has suspended trading in 48 firms for non-compliances of various clauses of the listing agreement from July 11. Among these are Midvalley Entertainment, Unitech International, Sparc Systems, Indus Networks and Vital Communications.
