Manipur polo team feted

Imphal, June 17: The Manipur polo team, which bagged the champion’s title of the Lalit Suri Polo Tournament 2012 at Dras in Jammu and Kashmir from June 8-9, was feted by the Manipur Horse Riding and Polo Association at Pony Breeding Farm at Lamphelpat today. Manipur rider M. Jawan Singh was named most Valuable Player.

The team comprised S. Bimol Singh, M. Jawan Singh, T. Pradeepkumar Singh, S. Somorjit Singh, Th. Kaoba Singh, L. Mocha Singh and K. Jugindro Singh. The tournament, played on a league basis, saw Manipur beating Dras 6-0 and Leh by 5-0 goals.

The association also honoured coach Th. Basantakumar.

MCA cricket: Youth Welfare Club Langthabal registered a seven-wicket win against Force Khetrigao in the MCA U-16 Boys Cricket Tournament at Luwangpokpa cricket ground. Bingson of Youth Welfare Club was named Man of the Match.
