Welfare schemes

Guwahati, June 17: Union minister for social justice and empowerment Mukul Wasnik today said the Centre was taking steps to remove the loopholes in the process for implementation of schemes meant for the welfare of the disabled, during a seminar on Disability Scenario in Northeast India: Status, Challenges and Prospects here.

Barpeta: The foreigners’ tribunal has asked the Election Commission to remove the names of Saleha Khatoon, Chairun Nessa and Mariam Khatoon of Barpeta district from the D-voters list after they produced valid documents to prove their citizenship.
