Patna: The health department on Thursday added another number, 0612- 2215505, to the earlier helpline (0612- 2217608) to help people suffering from acute encephalitis syndrome.
Control rooms in the 10 most affected districts also became functional on Thursday. Mobile parties comprising an ambulance, a medical officer, paramedical staff and essential medicines were sent out to affected blocks of these districts to identify and treat suspected patients and to refer them to bigger hospitals.
Araria: A 45-year-old man was shot dead and two others were critically injured in firing during a marriage ceremony at Parewada village under Forbesganj police station late on Wednesday night. The deceased was identified as Sagam Lal Bahardar. A case of murder has been registered under Forbesganj police station against unknown persons.
Patna: The results of Secondary Teachers Eligibility Test, conducted by Bihar School of Examination Board, were announced on Thursday.

Patna: The education department on Thursday approved Rs 331.40 crore for providing March-May salaries to teachers and employees of universities in the state. For Patna University, Rs 23.19 crore was approved, while Magadh University would get Rs 84.03 crore.
