cheer factor: The Summer Carnival kicked off with a series of workshops — craft and creation, cartooning, Bengali recitation, watercolour painting, communication and photography.

Adding some filmi fun was the Children’s Movie Festival, organised by Club Solitaire in association with Priya Entertainment. Sunday screenings at Priya cinema and Bioscope included Kung Fu Panda, Mr. Bean’s Holiday and The Adventures of Tintin: The Secret of the Unicorn.

The carnival also held a Gam-a-thon, presented in association with Timezone. Around 400 participants thronged the gaming stop at South City Mall on May 26 and 27. “Some kids would even drop by to practise!” smiled Abbas Jabalpurwala, deputy general manager, Timezone (India).
