Tata Football Academy (TFA) coach Kausar Ahmed was reportedly suspended on Monday, barely a week after he got drawn into a very public argument with senior manager M.R. Bhalla over giving a break to Under-10 boys during training.
Tata Steel has started an enquiry into the episode. Though the company’s corporate affairs and communications chief Charudatta Deshpande did not confirm the suspension, sources said the coach, who submitted an explanation on his conduct as asked on Monday, would remain suspended till the probe was over.
The steel major is learnt to have taken strong exception to what happened at Gopal Maidan on June 6. Bhalla objected when Ahmed, a former TFA cadet, ordered a break for Under-10 boys. Argument and counter-argument went on before Ahmed left the ground, threatening to quit TFA.
