New Delhi, June 11: The Air India management has decided to sack more than 300 pilots who have been on strike for the last 30 days.
According to sources, the management will take a final call in the next few days.
Civil aviation minister Ajit Singh today said the management would have to decide soon on how to deal with the pilots who were on an illegal strike and showed no sign of returning to work.
“These pilots have not come to work for more than 30 days. It is an illegal strike and they have defied the high court. We have requested them again and again to report to duty. Now it is time for the management to decide how long they can keep them on the payroll as they are not working and have shown no intention of coming back,” Singh said. However, he said that he had not given any directions on issuing the sack order.
