Imphal, June 10: SAI RC claimed the title of overall team champion of the 8th Governor’s Cup State-level Fencing Championship 2012 held at Khuman Lampak indoor stadium.
SAI fencers finished with 13 gold, six silver and eight bronze medals with W. Thoibi Devi of SAI RC bagging the Best Fencer title.
SAI RC and United Progressive Adults’ Association shared the women’s team title, while SAI RC bagged the men’s title. In the senior girls’, SAI RC and Miisikhol shared the top spot, while SAI RC grabbed the senior boys’, junior girls’ and junior boys’ titles.
In cadet girls’ category, United emerged winner while PPLYDO took the cadet boys’ title. United also won mini girls’ and boys’ overall team titles, while the sub-junior boys’ title was bagged by PPLYDO.
