Shesher kobita

Before heading to the hills with Rahul Bose and Konkona Sensharma, Suman Mukhopadhyay had taken a look test of the actors in the other vital roles in Shesher Kobita, his adaptation of the Tagore text.

t2 got a sneak peek... After Chaturanga in 2009, Shesher Kobita is Suman’s second venture with a Tagore text. The team has started shooting in Shillong, where the Tagore novel is based, with Rahul and Konkona, who play the lead characters of Amit Ray and Labanya. “The weather is beautiful as it’s monsoon here. We also shot a few sequences in Cherrapunji.... I am very satisfied working with Rahul and Konkona. They are brilliant actors and fit their roles,” Suman told t2 on phone. The Calcutta schedule goes on the floors on June 29. “We will mostly shoot the indoor sequences in Calcutta,” added Suman.

A shimmery black-and-silver chiffon sari with a lacy headgear and red lips. That’s Swastika Mukherjee as Ketaki, or Katy, in Suman’s Shesher Kobita.

“I love my look in the film. There’s so much detailing in the costumes, even the petticoat has lace!” said Swastika, who will share screen space with Rahul Bose’s Amit Ray. “Katy marries Amit and her character has different shades. She is loud and vibrant,” added Swastika.
