Mithun and Dev in disco dancer remake

If everything falls in place, Bikram Singha maker Rajib will hit the floors later this year with his dream project — a film ‘inspired’ by Mithun Chakraborty’s Disco Dancer. Tolly heart-throb Dev is slated to slip into the dancing shoes of Mithun, while Mithunda himself will play Rajesh Khanna’s character from the 1982 blockbuster. The film will be produced by Srijan, which had backed Raj Chakraborty’s Le Chakka in 2010. What’s more, Bappi Lahiri — whose I Am a Disco Dancer made Mithun a rage — will compose at least four of the eight tracks for the Tolly film!

Though Rajib is tight-lipped about the project, the buzz is that the Dev-Mithun deal has been sealed. Both have agreed and are excited about the film. Dev has blocked dates for September, when the film is supposed to take off.
