About 300 junior doctors at RG Kar hospital ceased work after relatives of a patient allegedly assaulted their colleague on Wednesday.
Mohammad Saheb Jaan, 80, a resident of Belgachhia Main Road, was admitted to the hospital around 5am on Wednesday and died around 6.30pm. His family members allegedly assaulted a doctor and hospital employee, accusing them of delay in treatment.
Ceasework: Employees of Bidhannagar Municipality ceased work for about 45 minutes from 11am on Wednesday after Ashesh Mukherjee, chairman-in-council of the municipality, allegedly beat up one of them. Mukherjee and chairman Krishna Chakraborty denied the allegation. The executive officer of the municipality is conducting a probe.
