Fitness freak Ashmit Patel has had a six pack since the age of 16 or 18. “My body is the temple of my soul. I worship it!” says the Murder guy, in a chat with t2 about keeping in shape.
Your fitness icon: A 60-year-old lady who trains in my gym. I don’t know her name! (Chuckles)
The best compliment you’ve received for your body: Salman (Khan) once told me that Dino (Morea) and I have the best bodies in the industry.
The most attractive part of your body: My legs! Most Indian men don’t really have strong legs.
Do you gym everyday?
Mostly! If I don’t, then I play cricket or squash.
Your gym kit includes: A bottle of water, a pair of straps that I use when I am doing really heavy weights for my back, a banana and protein shake.
The most ridiculous fitness myth: There are plenty! However, blaming genetics for not being fit is the most ridiculous thing. Anyone can have a good body with the 3Ps — patience, perseverance and perspiration.
The first thing you eat in the morning: Oatmeal porridge, fresh fruits and dry fruits with a protein shake.
Describe your diet: Post-workout, I have banana and protein shake. Lunch is a ground mixture of all kinds of fruits and vegetables including kale, a green leafy vegetable that I buy from the market myself. In the evenings, I alternate between sandwich, fruits or protein shake. For dinner, it’s just vegetable soup and tofu salad.
An adventure sport you are dying to try: I was dying to experience scuba diving for many years. I experienced it just a couple of days back in Fiji.
Tell us something about your look in the film Parivaar (co-starring his Bigg Boss co-contestant Sara Khan): I have a very formal look in the film — shirts and trousers.
Your message to fitness freaks: Focus on feeling good rather than looking good. Try and get a good body and stay away from steroids.
