The Natural Way

I am a 21-year-old woman. I have dry, damaged and unmanageable hair. And summer months makes it worse. I apply almond oil once a week on my scalp, wash it off with a shampoo for dry and damaged hair and follow it up with a conditioner. Being a college-goer I don’t get much time to take care of my hair. What can I do to make my hair soft and shiny?

Mix almond and olive oil in equal quantities and massage well into your scalp and hair. The best thing for dry hair is salad mayonnaise. Take 4 to 5 tbs and massage into oiled hair and cover with a shower cap. Leave on for 40 minutes and shampoo normally with a mild herbal shampoo and conditioner.

I am an 18-year-old man. Recently, I had chicken pox which left scars on my face. Now, after a month-and-a-half, little has changed. I tried coconut water and many other lotions and creams but nothing has helped.

I do hope you did not scratch the healing scars as this very often leads to irreversible damage. Take 2 tsp of red lentil powder, 2 tsp rice powder, 2tsp Fuller’s earth and 2 tsp neem paste and mix with equal quantities of coconut water and milk and make a scrub. Apply on clean skin and scrub off after 10 minutes dabbing with milk. This should be done daily.

I follow a chemical-free beauty regime as much as possible. Chemical substances are not only harmful to skin

but also escalate the ageing process. I prefer taking care of my skin the natural way by drinking lots of water and

applying homemade face packs of

ingredients like cucumber, multani mitti, turmeric, fresh yogurt and also mashed fruits which work wonders. This helps my skin remain fresh and supple and at the same time I save my skin from toxins.
