Drogba to visit India

New Delhi: Chelsea striker Didier Drogba will be in the capital on June 17 to attend the final of a youth tournament organised by a top soft drink company.

The Ivory Coast player, who recently guided Chelsea to the Champions league title in Munich, will be the main attraction in the final of the Pepsi T20 football tournament final likely to be played at the Thyagraj Nagar Sports Complex here.

Some top Indian cricketers including Suresh Raina and Virat Kohli are also expected to attend the final and play a friendly football match against the winners of the tournament. Drogba will also share few tricks of his trade with the winning team after the final match.

“Drogba will be in Delhi for a short time,” one of the organisers said. “He is set to arrive on the morning of June 17 and will leave in the night.”

The tournament, involving 448 teams, was played in major cities like Calcutta, Mumbai, Chennai, Bangalore, Lucknow, Ludhiana and Delhi for the past one month.
