Toilet must for homes
Patna: Patna: Chief minister Nitish Kumar on Tuesday instructed the officials concerned to “compulsorily” add toilets to every home being built under the Kosi rehabilitation and rebuilding scheme in the flood-affected Saharsa, Supaul and Madhepura districts.

Sinha, besides other ministers and senior bureaucrats, Nitish said he found many homes were being built at Basantpur village in Supaul without toilets during his recent Seva Yatra.

Patna: A clerk of SK Medical College, Subodh Kumar Verma, was caught red-handed by vigilance officials while allegedly accepting a bribe of Rs 15,000 from one Sonelal Sahni.

Boat mishap
Saharsa (PTI): Three persons went missing on Tuesday when a country boat carrying around 12 persons sank in the Kosi river near Ghonghepur village under Mahishi police station of Saharsa district.
Central aid
Patna: The Union government has passed a budgetary allocation of Rs 11,000 crore to the Bihar government under Sarv Siksha Abhiyan (SSA) for the 2012-13 fiscal. The Centre will bear 65 per cent of the allocation while the state government will bear 35 per cent.

Patna: All India Students’ Federation members were lathicharged and arrested at Dakbungalow roundabout on Tuesday as they were protesting against anomalies in Secretariat Assistant Examination. The AISF has given a call for an Assembly march on June 20.

Patna: Om Prakash Tiwari of Daudnagar (Aurangabad) has been selected to participate at the South Asia Special Olympic Soccer Cup 2012 which will be held from May 22 to 27 in Dhaka, Bangladesh.
Arms arrest
Gaya: Three persons were arrested on charges of arms smuggling fromBarachatti police station area. Gaya city superintendent of police Babu Ram said two Italy-made and a USA-made pistols and four cartridges were found on them. They were identified as Mohammad Sabir and Ashraf of Fatehpur block in Gaya and Enamul Haque of Biharsharif in Nalanda.
