Gadchiroli, May 20 (PTI): Three villagers in Maharashtra’s Gadchiroli have allegedly been abducted by Maoists.
Police have confirmed only the abduction of Mehtarsing Usendi but sources here said two were also taken away by the rebels. Usendi is a former deputy chairman of the Dhanor panchayat samiti in Gadchiroli.
The two others believed to have been kidnapped are Jawaharlal Lediya, the sarpanch of Murumgaon, and Murraji Halami, the sarpanch of Pannamara.
According to the reports, the Maoists first abducted Usendi and Lediya from their homes at Murumgaon and then kidnapped up Halami from Pannamara around 8.30pm.
The Maoists have so far not made any demand for the release of the three.
