Yuvraj may return in September
Chandigarh: Yuvraj Singh on Thursday said he is eyeing a comeback by September. “Hopefully, I should be back (in action) very soon. May be by next 3-4 months,” said Yuvraj during a felicitation, organised by the Punjab government.
When asked if he would make a comeback within one year, a surprised-looking Yuvraj said, “One year is too late. I am hoping to make an early comeback, may be by next 3-4 months.”
Nasir out
Lahore: Nasir Jamshed was Wednesday ruled out of Pakistan’s tour of Sri Lanka after sustaining a finger injury that will keep the opener out of action for four to six weeks. The PCB has not named a replacement yet.
Appointments
Calcutta: The umpire and match official appointments for the playoffs and final of IPL-V were announced on Wednesday. ICC Elite Panel umpires Simon Taufel, Billy Doctrove, Kumar Dharmasena and Billy Bowden will be officiating in the three playoffs and the final as well. ICC Match referees Andy Pycroft and Ranjan Madugalle will preside over all the four games.

London: London: Kenny Dalglish’s Liverpool reign is over following face-to-face talks with the club’s American owners.
After 18 months back at the helm, Dalglish has paid the price for a poor league performance, during which time he lost the faith of his board.
Ashok in final
Calcutta: Former Asian champion Ashok Shandilya overwhelmed Alok Kumar of ONGC 3-0, while Rupesh Shah prevailed over BPCL’s Devendra Joshi 3-1 to set up the title clash in the billiards event of the Maharaja Pratap Sinh National Invitation Billiards & Snooker Tournament.
In the snooker event, Manish Jain shocked nine-time world champion and local favourite Geet Sethi 3-0 in his second league fixture in Pool ‘B’ at Polo Club.
