National Institute of Financial Management (NIFM) and National Stock Exchange is starting a one-year, full-time, postgraduate course in financial markets and a one-year, weekend postgraduate course for working professionals, in financial markets.

The courses will cover varied topics such as cash market and derivatives, mergers and acquisitions, mutual funds, commodity market operations and corporate and capital market laws. The programme also includes a visit to an international exchange and trips to international financial centres for global exposure.

Eligibility:

For the full time course, students will have to appear for an online test, unless they have valid scores of CAT, MAT or XAT. For the executive programme, they need a graduation degree from a recognised university and two years of work experience. The work experience or entrepreneurial experience may be in any field. Scholarships

Newcastle scholarships

The International Office announces 10 Newcastle University Indian Scholarship (NUIS PG) awards.

The scholarships are available for Indian students applying for entry into postgraduate degree programmes in the faculties of science, agriculture and engineering, medical sciences and the Newcastle University Business School commencing their studies in September 2012. Each scholarship will have a value of £2,000, payable as first year of tuition fees.

Eligibility:

One is eligible to apply for a NUIS PG award if he / she has been offered a place in any postgraduate degree programme in the faculties of SAgE or FMS or Newcastle University Business School.

One has to be an Indian national and have an average of 70 per cent or more in bachelors and satisfy all other requirements.
