GNLA linkman held

Shillong, May 15: The BSF troops of Maheshkhola in the South Garo Hills carried out special operations and apprehended a GNLA linkman, identified as Sonion Marak, 32, hailing from Maheshkhola, while he was infiltrating to India from Bangladesh last evening.

The BSF also seized Taka 8,500 Bangladesh currency, Rs 500 Indian currency, a mobile phone with Bangladesh SIM and a 260-feet-long nylon rope.

During preliminary questioning, Marak confessed he was working with the outfit and facilitating trans-border movements of GNLA cadres.

The BSF in a statement issued here today said the apprehended person along with seized items had been handed over to a police station for necessary action.
