Champs beat Oscar

Imphal, May 14: Champs Khagempalli batsman Robinson Singh’s half century helped his team beat Oscar Paona Bazar by 94 runs in the MCA Classification Tournament at Luwangpokpa cricket ground.

Champs won the toss and decided to bat. Robinson Singh topscored with 50. Oscar bowler Sonamani Singh and Samson Singh bagged three wickets each. In reply, Oscar batsmen were all out for 86 from 24.1overs.

Bikenson Singh and Noaba Singh stood their ground to score 23 runs each for 94 runs. Champs bowler Rasikanta claimed three wickets.

Chess: Kh. Sanjoy Singh shared the lead with three other players with 3.5 points in the fourth round of the 17th Y. Nilamani Memorial Chess Tournament at Singjamei Community Hall. Rated player Rk. Apollosana managed a draw against Y. Dhanabir to split half a point each while Kh. Sanjoy had a drawn game with S. Premjit Singh.

Kho kho: Dimapur Road Athletic Organisation swept all the titles of the 37th Manipur State Senior 26th Sub-Junior Kho Kho Championship at Kakching in Thoubal district.
