Shillong, May 13: The BSF today seized 25gm of heroin, valued at Rs 2,50,000 in the international market, from the West Garo Hills district.
The contraband was handed over to the department concerned for further disposal. According to a BSF statement, around 2.30pm, the BSF troops on the border outpost of Baluaghat in West Garo Hills, noticed one person moving suspiciously towards the international border.
On realising the presence of the BSF personnel, the smuggler fled, taking advantage of the thick vegetation and darkness.
The personnel searched the area and recovered a bag containing 25gm of heroin.
