Childbirth on road
Jorhat, May 11: A mentally challenged woman gave birth to a child on the road at Raja Maidam here on Friday. She was later taken to Jorhat Medical College and Hospital (JMCH) by the 108 ambulance service.
Theft on train
Jorhat: Manish Ghosh and Rimpi, residents of JPR here, were robbed of their belongings on the Rajdhani Express at Lumding station on Thursday night, while they were returning from Delhi.
15 injured
Dhubri: Altogether 15 passengers were injured when a Bilasipara-bound bus going from Dhubri, overturned on NH 31 at Hazari Jharna under Kachugaon police station of Kokrajhar district on Friday evening. The injured were shifted to Dhubri civil hospital, where the condition of three is stated to be critical, a police source said.
Excursion
Dhubri: The 9 Sikh Light Regiment of the army posted at Damra camp, organised an excursion trip on Friday for 40 students and five teachers of Bandarshi Higher Secondary School of Dudhnoi. They were taken to tourist spots and heritage sites like Surya Pahar and Archaeological museum in Goalpara.
