Shillong, May 11: Musical evenings and seminars on youth and women empowerment will mark the platinum jubilee celebrations of Brahma Kumaris, a religious organisation in Shillong.
Indian Idol singer Amit Paul will also perform during the programme after the launch of the platinum jubilee celebrations on Sunday evening.
Benny Sarin, manager, public relations, Brahma Kumaris, Mount Abu, told a news conference today that East Khasi Hills deputy commissioner Sanjay Goyal would inaugurate a jeevan darshan mela on Sunday prior to the formal inauguration of the platinum jubilee celebrations in the evening by deputy chief minister B.M. Lanong.
According to the Brahma Kumaris, the weeklong programme will include a youth seminar on dream with the purpose.
To attract the students, quiz and drawing competitions have also been organised.
Heath check-ups, health seminars and lectures on how to empower women will also be part of the celebrations.
Besides, there will be an exhibition on rajyoga, holistic health and awareness on de-addiction.
