Raja bail decision

New Delhi, May 11: The special 2G court today reserved its order on A. Raja’s bail application till Tuesday after the CBI said it was probing a fresh allegation that he had received Rs 200 crore as bribe.

The CBI's counsel, A.K. Singh, told the court the agency had recently learnt that Raja was allegedly paid the Rs 200 crore by one of the telecom companies that had been allotted a spectrum licence when he was communications minister.

Tharoor plea

Thiruvananthapuram (PTI): MP Shashi Tharoor has urged Lok Sabha Speaker Meira Kumar to consider the possibility of a five-day sitting of both the Houses outside New Delhi, preferably in Bangalore.

Cuffs for posts

Mumbai (PTI):Two Air India employees have been arrested for allegedly posting on Facebook and Orkut derogatory remarks against the Prime Minister’s Office, national flag and the Supreme Court. Cabin crew members K.V. Janannathrao and Mayank Sharma were remanded in police custody till May 18.

Card cons

Dehra Dun (PTI): Two youths were arrested on Thursday for allegedly possessing nearly 90 ATM cards of various banks. The duo confessed to have collected the cards by duping people, police said.

Mid-day meal

New Delhi (PTI): Thirty-four complaints of irregularities in the mid-day meals scheme had been received by the Centre in 2011, minister of state D. Purandeswari has said. The complaints had been forwarded to the states and Unions territories who had reported that 21 complaints were baseless.

Hooch alert

Hyderabad (PTI): Andhra Pradesh chief minister N. Kiran Kumar Reddy has directed officials to check illicit liquor trade after four persons died having consumed spurious liquor in Vijayawada.
