Students in refinery

Kokrajhar, May 10: Thirty schoolchildren from Chirang district made a trip to Bongaigaon Refinery and Petroleum Ltd. in Dhaligaon. Organised by the Red Horns division of the army, 30 students of five government schools were taken on a guided tour of the township.

Mahut killed

Sivasagar: Jadav Gogoi, a mahut, was trampled to death by a domestic elephant at Japisojia village here on Wednesday evening.

Attack

Sivasagar: Sattar Ali of Rajaphukuri was injured when he was attacked by a leopard near a government hospital on Thursday.

Jawans held

Jorhat: Two Assam Rifles jawans — Bijoy Kishore and Dilip Singh — were detained by police on Thursday on charges of engaging in immoral activities. They were picked up from a house in Atiliagaon, along with two women.

Arrest

Goalpara: In a joint operation, the army’s Red Horns division and Goalpara police arrested two GNLA militants from Darka area in the district on Wednesday. he apprehended militants have been identified as Pilat B. Marak, 20, and Damin Sangma, 22, from West Garo Hills.
