CAB planning to felicitate Sachin

Come Saturday, the Cricket Association of Bengal (CAB) is planning to felicitate Sachin Tendulkar when the Master turns out for the Mumbai Indians against the Kolkata Knight Riders. This will be Sachin’s first visit to the city after his century of International hundreds in March.

“Talks are on... We are in discussion with the state sports minister Madan Mitra if we can felicitate Sachin on Saturday. We will have another round of discussions on Tuesday to finalise matters,” a senior CAB official said.

BHA league

Calcutta Port Trust defeated CC&FC 2-1 while Punjab Sports Club drew with CESC in the BHA league Super Division matches on Monday. By virtue of the win, Port Trust moved to three points while CC&FC remained on one point.

Football meet

Bhaskar Das scored a brace in North Point Day School’s 3-0 victory over St Stephen’s in the opening match of the South Dum Dum Municipality inter-school football championship on Monday. Diparnab Das Sharma scored the other goal.
