Dhubri, May 6: In the Yuva Prime League, Agarwal Fighter and Agarwal Royals won the 16-over cricket match, defeating Oswal Royals and Brahmin Warrior by 27 and three wickets respectively at Raja Prabhat Chandra Baruah Maidan here today.
The YPL matches are organised by the Dhubri Marwari Yuva Manch.
Winning the toss, Agarwal scored 158 at the loss of six wickets with a topscore of 47 by Anurag Killa in 16 overs. Chasing the target of 159 to win, Oswal Royal was dismissed at 129 on the board in 14.3 overs.
Killa also scalped five wickets to be declared Man of the Match.
In the other match, winning the toss, Brahmin Warriors elected to bat and scored 106, losing all wickets in 9.2 overs with Rupam Agarwal scoring 26.
Chasing the target of 107 to win, Agarwal Royals scored the required runs in 14.4 overs at the loss of seven wickets.
Bowler Rakesh Todi scalped four wickets.
Kokrajhar league: The Kokrajhar Football League, 2012, began today at Kokrajhar DSA playground, reports our Kokrajhar correspondent.
In the inaugural match today, Sports Authority of India Kokrajhar defeated Gendrabil Jothai club by 3-0 goals.
