Workshop festival for students

Shillong, May 6: A leading bookstore in the hill town,The Bookmark Sahaki, has taken the initiative to organise a weeklong “workshop festival” from Tuesday.

A set of workshops has been arranged, where school and college students within the age group of 14-20 years will participate.

The workshop festival to be held at the Don Bosco Youth Centre, will have sessions on creative writing, media and information literacy for peace and volunteerism, counselling, painting, photography and theatre.

Eminent poet Kynpham Sing Nongkynrih, well known children’s writer Ramendra Kumar, members from the Gurudev Rabindranath Tagore Foundation, New Delhi (Peace Gong), writer Ananya S. Guha are some of the resource persons who would lead this series of workshops.

It will end on May 16.

The aim of the workshop festival is to promote creativity, volunteerism and leadership among the young people.
