Pune fined

Calcutta: Pune Warriors were Saturday penalised for a slow over rate, during their match against the Kolkata Knight Riders, at the Eden.

The Warriors were assessed to be one over behind the required rate.

As this was captain Sourav Ganguly’s second slow over rate offence of this year’s IPL, he was fined $40,000, while each of the other 10 members of the playing XI were fined the lesser of $10,000 or 25 per cent of their match fees.

Meanwhile, the Warriors’ Australian recruit, batsman Steven Smith, received an official warning and reprimand for breaching the IPL Code of Conduct during Saturday’s tie.
