Bail for AMRI official
The Alipore sessions court on Friday granted bail to Sajid Hossain, the night administrator of AMRI Hospitals Dhakuria, who had been behind bars since January 23. Hossain was allowed bail on a personal bond of Rs 30,000 and surety given by a relative and a court representative. He was the last among the 13 arrested AMRI directors and officials.
Negligence cry: A sub-inspector has accused two doctors and a member of the nursing staff of a Park Street hospital of negligence after the death of his newborn girl.
abin Kumar Das said his wife had given birth at the hospital on April 30. He said he received a call from the hospital on Thursday night that the child was critical.
hen he reached the hospital around 1am, a nurse told him the baby was on ventilator. The baby died later. A case has been started against the accused.
IPL arrest: Six persons were arrested in the past 48 hours for illegally selling IPL tickets for Saturday’s match at the Eden Gardens. Cops seized 29 tickets from them.
Flight trouble: A Delhi-Calcutta flight of IndiGo airline hovered over the city for more than an hour on Thursday evening because of stormy weather. IndiGo officials said the flight had missed the first attempt to land around 6.20pm. It finally landed at 7.26pm. Some passengers claimed they had fallen sick on board because of turbulence.
