Calcutta, May 3: A delegation from Bengal’s small and medium foundries will visit China to acquire knowledge about the business.
“Some of the country’s oldest foundries are in the state. Yet in terms of production and technology, the region has fallen behind places such as Coimbatore, Rajkot and Kohlapur. This trip will help some of the smaller foundries (having a capacity of about 500-600 tonnes per month) to understand how to operate efficiently like the Chinese units,” said Raj Kejriwal, managing director of Kiswok Industries.
The delegation will attend a three-day conference called Mining and Metallurgy, 2012 and visit around 13 foundries.
Kejriwal is the leader of the group, who will be in China for 10 days.
