JEE answers
The West Bengal Joint Entrance Examination board has for the first time uploaded the answers to this year’s JEE questions on its website, www.wbjeeb.in. The answers, which were uploaded on Tuesday, will remain on the site till Friday midnight.
he board has decided to let anyone who doesn’t agree with its answers to send clarifications by sending an email to wbjeeb@gmail.com.
he board will go through the feedback and decide upon the final answers, based on which the answer scripts will be scanned, said Kumar Deb Banerjee, the chairman of the joint entrance board.
Identified
The body of a 30-year-old MBA was identified on Wednesday, a week after it had been found in a charred state in Barrackpore, using a method that commissioner Sanjoy Mukherjee said was “textbook detective work”. The cops used a tailor’s tag in Sharma’s trousers to identify the body.
n April 25, Sharma had left his home in Haridevpur, telling his family members he would go to a job interview in Salt Lake. His charred body was found in Barrackpore that evening.
he cops zeroed in on the tailor from a tag on the trousers. The cops showed workers at the Behala shop a photograph of the body. The workers said it might be that of Sharma. His relatives haven’t lodged any complaint.
Games raid
The CBI raided two offices in the city on Wednesday in connection with a scam related to laying of synthetic athletics tracks during the Commonwealth Games in Delhi in 2010. The team visited an office on Shakespeare Sarani and the Central Public Works Department office in Nizam Palace. Laptops, pen drives and some documents were seized.
Help dead
The body of a 17-year-old girl from Jalpaiguri was found in an ashram off the EM Bypass on Wednesday morning. Krishna Das, a resident of Alipurduar, had come to the ashram as a help in February. Police said she had fled a few days back. A diary was lodged on April 28.
Power supply
Power supply to parts of Elgin Road, Lee Road, Sarat Bose Road, Rowland Road, Mullen Street, Little Russel Street, Pretoria Street, Shakespeare Sarani and Tivoli Park may be disrupted on Thursday because of maintenance.
Found dead
The decomposed body of an 80-year-old woman was found in a Jodhpur Park house on Wednesday. Anjana Bhaumik lived alone in the house.
Suicide bid
A 20-year-old girl, who attempted suicide by jumping into the Hooghly in Bally, Howrah, on Wednesday, was rescued by boatmen.
