Fiat dealer network

New Delhi, May 2: Italian car maker Fiat is to set up its own dealer network in India to grow sluggish sales, ending a six-year distribution agreement with Tata Motors. Fiat said the move should help to build its business in India, a booming market where foreign producers Ford, Honda and Nissan have recently acted to take more control of their own operations.

Hero net

New Delhi, May 2: Hero MotoCorp today posted a 20.33 per cent increase in net profit at Rs 603.59 crore for the fourth quarter ended March 31 on the back of robust sales during the period. The company also announced an immediate price hike of up to Rs 1,000 on its products because of rising input costs.

HUL profit

New Delhi, May 2: Hindustan Unilever has posted a 20.63 per cent rise in net profit at Rs 686.61 crore for the March quarter against Rs 569.18 crore in the year-ago period on the back of robust sales growth across all business verticals.

Genpact show

New York, May 2: BPO major Genpact has reported a 6.7 per cent jump in net profit at $38.5 million for the first quarter ended March 31 against $36.1 million in the same quarter of 2011.

Haldia Petro

Calcutta, May 2: The West Bengal Industrial Development Corporation may become a party to the case Haldia Petrochemicals has filed against its private promoter Purnendu Chatterjee’s The Chatterjee Group, Bengal industries minister Partha Chatterjee said.

Uco rates

Calcutta, May 2: Uco Bank has reduced the base rate by 25 basis points to 10.50 per cent from 10.75 per cent with effect from May 1.
