Inquizzitive

Derek O'Brien

Here’s something interesting that I came across, which I thought I would share with you. Have you ever wondered why there is no egg in eggplant, no ham in a hamburger; or why a Guinea pig is neither from Guinea, nor is it a pig? If it’s one goose many geese, why isn’t the plural of moose, meese? It gets more confusing! If teachers taught, why didn’t preachers praught? If a vegetarian eats vegetables, what does a humanitarian eat? Why do people recite at a play but play at a recital? How can a slim chance and a fat chance mean the same, while a wise man and a wise guy are opposites? You have a nose that runs and feet that smell. Your house can burn up as it burns down; you fill in a form by filling it out and an alarm goes off by going on.
