Silchar, April 18: The Power Grid Corporation of India is all set to divert nearly 400MW of power to the region from October, once the substation being set up at Srikona, becomes operational.
K Bhuiyan, AGM, PGCI, said Assam would get 245MW of power, including 120MW for Barak Valley.
Spread across 16 hectare, the substation was built at a cost of Rs 88 crore.
