Arrows in search of elusive win

Calcutta: Pailan Arrows will host Air India in the 25th round I League encounter at the Salt Lake Stadium, on Saturday.

Arrows stay at nine points from 21 matches, while Air India who are safe from relegation have 29 points from 24 outings. Arrows head coach Sujit Chakravorti said, “I hope we can win on Saturday. We have been playing well but have not been able to get the desired result.”

“We played well against Mumbai FC in our last match. Youngsters like Prabir Das, Tirthankar Sarkar and George Alwyn played well, but somehow we couldn’t get the result what we have wanted.

“Air India are a quality opposition and have very good players in their rank. We will try to give our 100 percent and win the match,” he added.

Arrows will miss the services of Prathamesh Maulingkar and Prabir Das due to injuries. Goalkeeper Naveen Kumar also stays doubtful.

Air India who have hold Prayag United in a goalless draw would be looking for a win. As these three crucial points will take them five points clear of Shillong Lajong who are just two points behind them.
