Carcass found

Jorhat, April 11: A carcass of a female rhino was recovered from Bagori range of the Kaziranga National Park early this morning. The horn was missing from the carcass. Forest officials said gunshots were heard late last night and an operation launched soon after. Twelve people have been picked up from different areas near the park in this connection.

Conservation

Kokrajhar: The Bodoland Territorial Council, which has been facing major problems for felling of trees and encroachment in forest areas, has drawn up a plan to conserve the forest wealth in areas under its jurisdiction.
