Guwahati, April 10: The Assam Cricket Association (ACA) is going to organise a specialised batting coaching camp for the state junior probables under former national coach Lalchand Rajput here from April 15 to 30.
Altogether 24 batsmen from across the state will be invited to the 15-day camp to be held at Nehru Stadium here.
ACA secretary Bikash Baruah said Rajput, who is the BCCI specialist batting academy director, was deputed by the National Cricket Academy for the brief camp during its meeting in New Delhi yesterday.
Rajput, who coached the national team to the first T20 World Cup victory in 2007 as the team manager in the absence of a coach for the team, had been the Assam Ranji team coach once in 2003-4 when Assam were in the elite group. Apart from the batting camp, the ACA will also host a two-day NCA talent hunt camp for freshers here on May 29 and 30.
