Sania slips to 182

New Delhi: Sania Mirza continued to slide down the ranking ladder as she dropped by 41 places to be placed at number 182 in the latest WTA list issued on Monday.

Sania slipped in the rankings after she missed out on making the singles main draw of the Miami event, losing in straight sets to American 10th seed Sloane Stephens.

She also lost two places in the doubles rankings to be in the ninth position. Partnering Elena Vesnina of Russia, she suffered a shock first-round defeat at Miami.

In men’s singles, the out-of-action Somdev Dev Varman has lost 12 more places to be down at 197 in the latest ATP singles rankings list.

In the doubles rankings, both Leander Paes and Rohan Bopanna continued to be at number seven and eight positions, respectively. Bhupathi has also managed to maintain his No. 15 spot in the doubles ranking.
